- 大方等
- Mahāvaipulya or vaipulya [lang id =1028]大方廣; [lang id =1028]毗佛畧. They are called [lang id =1028]無量義經 sutras of infinite meaning, or of the infinite; first introduced into China by Dharmarakṣa (A.D.266―317). The name is common to Hīnayāna and Mahayana, but chiefly claimed by the latter for its special sutras as extending and universalizing the Buddha's earlier preliminary teaching. v. [lang id =1028]大方廣 and [lang id =1028]方等.* * *又名大方廣, 即所說的道理不但廣大方正而且平等。
